It is much easier to tell someone what not to do than it is to tell them how to do it! When someone is telling you what not to do, question why they are telling you this information and ask them how to do it. If they won’t give you an answer of how, find someone who will. Many times people in positions of authority are telling others what not to do because they have stopped searching for solutions or ways to get it done. Instead, their focus lies only in trying to control others’ behavior so they feel powerful. They are not in the business of helping you, they only want to control you. Find someone who wants to tell you how to achieve your goal.
