Pushing Parents

In the Western world we often times view parents that are pushing their children to high achievement in a negative light. However, studies time and again show that parents should push their children to achieve. What matters is how they push their children. Do they verbally or physically abuse them? This approach is not healthy! However, the approach of consistently high standards combined with holding their children accountable for their actions works extremely well. When parents tell their children the truth, it actually helps them by building their confidence. Instead of trying to protect them from criticism, the parents should be teaching their children to learn from all experiences and always strive for improvement. This is how the parents can prepare their children to be successful in the world!
